What is covered — and what is not
What the guarantee covers
All floor restoration work we carry out — sanding, staining and finishing — is guaranteed for 3 months from the date we complete the job. If anything we did is not right within that period, we return and fix it at no cost to you.
The guarantee covers faults including:
Finish peeling, lifting or failing to cure properly
Visible sanding marks or uneven sanding left by our machines
Patchy or uneven staining that differs from the agreed sample
Boards or blocks we repaired or replaced that come loose under normal use
The guarantee applies under normal domestic or agreed commercial use, provided the aftercare advice we give you is followed.
What is not covered
Gap filling is excluded from our service guarantee. Timber floors expand and contract with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity, and with structural movement in the building. As boards expand and contract, resin filler or pine slivers can crack, shrink or drop out, and gaps can reopen. This is the nature of the timber rather than a fault in the work, so we cannot guarantee it — see our gap filling page for more on how we approach it.
The guarantee also does not cover:
Water damage, leaks, flooding or spills left standing on the floor
Scratches and dents from furniture without felt pads or protectors
Wear from pets' claws, stiletto heels, grit and castors
Existing defects in the subfloor, joists or structure, damp, or movement in the building
Natural changes in timber colour caused by sunlight and age
Damage from unsuitable cleaning products or lack of maintenance
Raising a problem
If you notice a problem, contact us as soon as possible with a description and a few photos. We will inspect the floor and, where the issue is covered, book in the remedial work at no cost. Full details are set out in our terms and conditions.
