Floor Restoration Services for Schools
Floor sanding and sports lacquer for schools in Esher, with court markings and full RAMS.
Wooden floors for schools
Few floors work as hard as a school hall. Worn lacquer, faded lines and loose blocks are not just unsightly - they can become a safety issue. We restore school floors across Esher so they are safe, smart and ready for the new term.
What we do for schools
Dust-free sanding of halls and classrooms back to fresh timber
Hardwearing sports lacquer with suitable slip resistance
Re-applying badminton, netball, basketball and other court markings
Repairs to loose parquet and damaged boards
Planned around the school year
We schedule work during half-terms, Easter and summer holidays so lessons are never disrupted. Curing time for the lacquer is built into the plan, so the hall is ready when term starts. Small areas can often be completed over a weekend.
Safety, RAMS and insurance
Before we start, we supply risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), product data sheets and a copy of our £5m public liability insurance. Our team follows your safeguarding and site procedures at all times.
Restoration vs replacement
Many school halls have solid maple, beech or oak floors that were built to last for generations. A restoration is far cheaper than a replacement and much quicker to complete. It is also the greener option, keeping good timber in use. We provide a clear, fixed quote that fits school budgeting and procurement processes.
Maintaining your school floor
A simple maintenance plan keeps a school floor in good condition for years. Barrier mats, pH-neutral cleaners and periodic re-coats all extend the life of the finish. We give your site team written guidance after every job.
More for your school
School work is part of our wider public spaces service. A lacquer re-coat every few years extends the life of the floor between full sands. Damaged parquet is put right with our parquet repair service. Have a look at our recent projects.
Questions about floor restoration services for schools
Do you do court lines on hall floors?
We can. After sanding we apply sports-grade lacquer and can repaint court markings to your layout between coats so they are sealed in. Read more about our school floor restoration.
Can you work during school holidays?
We regularly work during holidays, evenings and weekends. Most halls are finished in a few days, so disruption is kept to a minimum.
When can the furniture go back?
Light foot traffic in socks is usually fine after a few hours. Furniture can go back after 24–48 hours, and rugs after about a week while the finish fully cures.
Will there be a lot of dust?
Far less than you might expect. Our dust-free sanding systems capture around 99% of dust at source, so your home stays clean while we work. We also protect doorways and skirting before we start.
Do you provide risk assessments and method statements?
Yes — we supply RAMS and insurance certificates for every commercial or public project. Our team is used to working on occupied sites with site inductions and access rules.
Can I stay at home during the work?
Not at all. We work room by room, and most customers stay at home throughout. Our water-based lacquers and low-VOC oils have very little odour, so day-to-day life carries on.
