Victorian Pine Floorboards Restored
Original pine boards in a Victorian terrace in Esher, sanded, gap filled and finished in natural hardwax oil.
About this project
Under a worn carpet, the homeowners found the house's original pine floorboards, with paint around the edges, old staining and a number of split or loose boards.
We replaced the damaged boards with matched reclaimed pine, secured loose boards and punched in protruding nails. The floor was then sanded back to fresh timber with our dust-free machines, working carefully around the original skirting.
The wider gaps were filled with pine slivers before two coats of natural hardwax oil brought out the warm colour of the timber. The family were walking on the floor again after two days.
